Inok Hails Gov Ayade Leadership Inaugurates Akpabuyo Chapter Exco By Kingsley Agim
The State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Edim Inok Edim has commended Governor Ben Ayade’s leadership style and described it as “detribalized and all-encompassing”.
Chief Inok gave this commendation during the formal inauguration of the Akpabuyo Chapter of the Party, held recently at the Akpabuyo Local Government Council Headquarters.
The PDP Chieftain who described the statewide Chapter Inauguration exercise as “very impressive and unprecedented”, expressed satisfaction at the turnout and show of solidarity from the Akpabuyo people.
In his words, “we thank God for our Governor. When we call him ‘Digital Governor’, a lot of people do not understand. We thank him for providing this platform, providing these opportunities – all the appointments, including those inaugurated are all his products”.
Branding Akpabuyo as “the home of PDP”, Chief Inok also charged the people to continue to be the leading light in their support for the Party. He further called on all aggrieved persons who defected from the party to come back, adding that the party has “consolidated and is waxing even stronger”.
The Party Leader assured party faithfuls that the forthcoming party primaries will be conducted strictly in accordance with party’s constitution and international best practice. According to him, “the issue of disaffection in the party, in most cases, comes when there is election. We will not entertain those things which will bring disharmony and disaffection again. And in most cases, it is impunity when imposing candidates on people. He remarked that the Governor has asked that the party’s forthcoming elections would be based on popularity and zoning system. “Let me advise that if you know that it is not your zone to produce a candidate, do not try, because you will fail”, Chief Inok enthused.
In her remark, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Effiom Archibong, who also hails from Akpabuyo, congratulated the newly inaugurated exco and charged them to work hard to bring back all those who left the party.
To her, “PDP is here to stay. And for what our Governor, Senator (Prof) Ben Ayade has done for Akpabuyo and the State at large, we have no option than to rally behind him in the spirit of oneness, and push the party forward. I do not have any reason to doubt that the team that has been inaugurated today will carry Akpabuyo Chapter of PDP to a higher level. So I congratulate the State and Akpabuyo Chapter, and I say long live PDP”.
The inaugurated exco had Pastor Henry Ekpenyong Edem as Chairman; Effiong Asuquo – Vice Chairman; Hon. Joseph Ekpenyong – Secretary; others are Hon. Etim Bassey Effiong – Assistant Secretary; Etim E.
