About 20 persons from All Progressive Congress in Mkpani/Agoi on Sunday, 30th December 2018 defected to the People Democratic Party.
Those who left the APC includes Mr. Festus, aide to Former Governor of Cross River State Chief Clement Ebri and family.
They were received into the PDP at a ceremony held in PDP Secretariat to mark the Birthday of Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Williams.
The House of Assembly member, Representing Yakurr II Constituency Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Williams commended the new members for joining the PDP, which he described as the only grass roots party that share's everything little they got with each other.
" what you are doing today is not about me, it is about the party chairman or the Governor. It is about the state and the well being of everyone.
Hon. Uket Obono, said it's a great honour to receive them into the PDP family and promise to work closely with them to achieve reasonable results come 2019 elections.
Mr. Festus thank the party on behalf of all defectors, promise to deliver PDP in totality in his polling unit and all his supporters will definitely join him.
