AKPET’S DEATH: ONE TOO MANY A TRAGEDY FOR CRBC -- ARCHIBONG … CONDOLES BEREAVED FAMILY
By Kingsley Agim
Cross River State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong has described the regrettable demise of CRBC's Director of Public Affairs, Pastor Ndoma Akpet as "a monumental loss and a tragedy, one too many for the Broadcasting Corporation."
Mrs. Archibong made this assertion when she paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family, yesterday, at CRBC Staff Quarters, Federal Housing Estate, Calabar.
The Commissioner described Pastor Akpet, who died on Saturday, 23rd, March, 2019, after a protracted illness, as "an embodiment of humility and a true professional, whose contribution to the media profession will forever be remembered."
"Pastor Ndoma Akpet was a soft-spoken and nice gentleman; whose work ethics and diligent disposition were worthy of emulation and endeared him to his colleagues, friends and associates. His demise is a huge loss to his family, the Journalism Profession and the State at large," the Commissioner remarked.
The distraught Information and Orientation Boss prayed God for strength and fortitude for family throughout this period of grief and a peaceful repose of the departed brother, who left behind a wife, four children and an aged mother.
Mrs. Archibong lamented that the sector is yet to recover from the recent demise of late Oshega Abang, Director News and is facing the trauma occasioned by the kidnap of Mr Petertex Etim, a News Presenter.
She therefore urged the security agencies to expedite action on the rescue of Petertex Etim to forestall further panic and insecurity for his immediate family, CRBC and the State at large.
