Failure is an orphan and no sane follower of the CRSHA polity and politics will contest the patriotism, the veracity and sincerity that underline the active participation of Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones in the floor of the house.
As house committee chairman on finance budget and appropriation and deputy leader CRSHA, truth be told, he is well acquainted with the leadership of the house and well experienced to handle the gavel rightly.
He was closed to being independent, never was he missing in sponsoring and cosponsoring of bills despite being saddled with weighty responsibilities. And will not in totality give in to the whims of the governor if doing so will tarnish his integrity.
This must have prick the conscience of men and women of goodwill who believed that legislative activities is an avenue to fan personal gains rather than active democratic representation which E.J. Williams represents.
Rt. Hon. Jones, has never been accused of being a rubber stamp chairman and Deputy house leader. His diligent and diplomatic qualities should not be mistaken to mean not having the interests of house members at heart.
Jones will make a difference, by improving in those areas Speaker John Gaul was falling short of.
To Hon. Mathew Olory, Hon. Hillary Bisong, I have read of your giant strides as house members but the time is not yet ripe for the pendulum of speakership to swing to you. Allow the zoning formula which Cross River state politics is noted for and you will never regret you did.
Support the transition of speakership to Rt. Hon. Jones from Speaker Gaul and history will be made.
Interestingly, his speakership will be a fecund and a foray of digitalized developments owing to his leadership records.
