Ayade Institute an automatic scholarship award for best all around in COE

The Government of Cross River State has instituted an automatic scholarship award for the best all-around graduating student of College of Education, Akamkpa up to Master's level in any Nigerian university.
Ayade made the statement on the occasion of the first joint convocation ceremony of the college on Saturday, November 30th, 2019.
Ayade opined that inspite
of the lean finances of the State, he has kept the faith with his development aspirations across the state. Today, some streets of the college have been asphalted.
The Governor also noted that the government has sustained the timely payment of salaries to staff and Government further released the sum of N168m in 2012 for the infrastructure and facilities upgrade to facilitate the accreditation of the programmes in the college by NCCG. Expectedly, Government in August 2016 approved the upgrade of the status of the college from awarding just NCE to a degree awarding institution in affiliation with the University of Calabar.
Ayade urges staff and students to reciprocate Government's good gesture and partner with the government to achieve the lofty goals of the college. He also added that those convoking should be good ambassadors of the College and the state in general.
Speaking earlier, The Provost of Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa, Dr. James Etim Archibong stated the land marks achievements of the college which includes:
i) Full accreditation for the Department of Home Economics, Agricultural Education and Public Science
ii) The Establishment and Maintenance of a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Computer-Based Testing (CBT) Centre in the College
iii) Publication of standard textbooks for all the courses offered in the college
iv) Enforcement of the zero-tolerance policy of the college towards examination malpractice, cultism, extortion and indecent dressing
v) posting of students semester results online
vi) Floating the second international Journal of Research in Education (COMJRED).
James on behalf of the academic board, staff and students sent their gratitude to Government for the sustained payment of workers' emoluments and other developmental strides despite scant resources occasioned by the global economic melt-down.
James also notified the Government that twenty-three (23) programmes of the colleges are due for re-accreditation by National Commission for Education.
Provost call on the Government to restore the monthly impressed to the College, improve the road network, employ more academic staff in specialized subject areas.
Out of 9,450 students admitted from 2009/2010 academic session to the 2015/2016 session, about 5, 850 have been found worthy in character and learning to be awarded the prestigious Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)--- School Provost.
Finally James on behalf of the management congratulates those convoking and wish them more success in their future endeavours and choose careers.
