CRHA; CROSS RIVER STATE APPROPRIATION BILL 2020 PASSES SECOND READING

The Cross River State Appropriation Bill 2020 has passed through second reading in the State House of Assembly.
Members while deliberating on the motion for second reading of the bill observed amongst others, that the budget proposal of 1.1 trillion is achievable and commended the State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade for allocating an estimate of over 80% of the bill as capital expenditure, which according to members will further promote the industrialization drive of the State.
Members unanimously agreed that the appropriation bill be read the second time, the Speaker, Rt Hon Eteng Jonah Williams then committed the bill to Committee on Finance and Appropriation with a directive to report back to the House in two weeks.
It would be recall that Governor Ayade had on November 21, 2019 presented a budget size of 1.1 trillion Naira tagged budget of "Olimpotic Merristemassis" which has 911 billion Naira or 82% for capital and 188 billion or 17.2% as recurrent expenditure.
