In fulfilment of his promises to take care of the welfare of the students in University of Calabar as SUG Director of welfare, Omini Sophia has taken renovation in Unical hall 8, a room that was burnt down since 2018 like two years ago and was abandoned by past administration and another one that got burnt at hall 6, that was last year which was also renovated by the Director of Welfare, Students' Union Government.
Speaking to Detailing Cross River in Calabar, the Director of welfare, Students' Union Government, Comr. Omini Sophia revealed that complete renovation was made, new electrical connections, bulbs, brand new fan, curtains, new furniture, new carpet and lots more were put in place so that year one students who are stranded and have no where to sleep will find where to put their heads, since the Union discovered they have been sleeping at the quadrangle.
Sophia Said with the level of commitment demonstrated by the Vice Chancellor of University of Calabar in the area of infrastructural project without compromising on standard has made him to emulate him to render selfless service to the Union.
Sophia added that what he's doing is for the love of the Union and that he is using his personal funds for the effective facilitations of these exercise.
Sophia also used the opportunity and lauded the Vice Chancellor Prof. Zana I. Akpagu and the Dean of Students' Affairs Prof. Enang Udah for their kind approval for him to embark on the renovation of these affected places in the hotels.
What the director of welfare has done is selfless and should be emulated by all Union officials. Add value to your position and leave a legacy for yourself and generations yet unborn... Detailing Cross River.
