Peace Corps: National Commandant Arrives Calabar, Received by Top government officials.
The National Commandant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria Amb. Dr. Dickson A. O. Akoh, FCITr, FCPA, FNSIS arrived Calabar, the capital city of Cross River State on the 2nd day of March 2020 for the restructuring of Cross River State Command.
He was received by State Commandant, Patriot (Dr) Okweche Dominic, Government functionaries, House Committee Chairman in charge of Youth and Sport development at the Cross River State House of Assembly and other senior officers of the Corps at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport.
At the airport, the National Commandant briefed the media on his mission to Cross River and the State of our Bill at the National Assembly.
The restructuring event attracted hundreds of Officers colourfully dressed in their uniforms and the efik rich cultural display were on ground singing, dancing to honour the National Commandant.
Addressing his subject, National Commandant Dr. Akoh described Cross River State as a blessed State, that as the flight landed Calabar, the National Headquarters that was sealed for three years was opened.
He also acknowledged the capacity State Commandant for leading the command rightly.
After the restructuring, the State Commandant who maintained his position as the State Commandant thanked the National Commandant for finding him worthy to Continue in his position and promised to do his best with wisdom from God and support from officers under him.
More so, the state Commandant presented an artistic customised felicitation card to the National Commandant, as well as customised shirts even to the Deputies that came with the National Commandant were beneficiaries.
In reactions, the National Commandant thanked the State Commandant and the officers for the show of love and urged all officers to be one United entity and remain in Peace.
The exercise ended with jubilation on the good news disclosed by the NC and the elevation of many was also another milestone.
