CRGIA HOLDS CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING FOR MGT & STAFF

By Kingsley Agim

Cross River Geographic Information Agency (CRGIA) has held a one-day capacity building training for its Management and Staff to improve efficiency and overall output of the Agency.

Speaking to newsmen at the event held recently in the Agency’s auditorium, CRGIA’s Director-General, Sir John Odo, stated that as an office with professionals in every field in the land cluster, it was pertinent for periodic trainings and re-trainings for capacities of staff to be better developed to bolster productivity in the Agency.

Continuing, the DG hinted that the training is one in a series lined up for stakeholders in the land cluster to remain abreast with recent trends and technology in land matters.

With a sense of gratification, Sir Odo boasted that his Agency is replete with potent capacity building paraphernalia, consequently calling on institutions of higher learning to take advantage of CRGIA and send their students for industrial trainings in the field of Urban and Regional Planning.

The DG lauded Governor Ben Ayade for the resurgence of CRGIA, noting that as a one-stop shop for land transaction, his Agency has to an extend/and will continue to obliterate land disputes that have hitherto bedeviled a significant majority of the people.

The CRGIA boss assured that all training will be held in strict compliance to relevant directives on Covid-19 and other safety standards.

Also speaking, a Resource Person and Lead Consultant, Cosgrow & Associates, Dr. Michael Orode, averred that the training, themed: “Tools for Working as a team,” would be of immense benefit to the Management and Staff of the Agency as it essentially ensures that the entirety of CRGIA setup is kept abreast of its mandate, the law backing it, its functions, departmental integration, refining of staff’s collective competences and possible ways of improving the generality of the Agency’s workforce and output.

Another speaker, the Agency’s Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Deacon Icha Mboto quipped that with CRGIA in force, land squabbles have been reduced to the barest minimum in the State. Deacon Mboto also pledged CRGIA’s resolve to remain a dependable ally and machinery for land transactions in Cross River State.

CRGIA’s Legal Adviser, Mr. Echeng Enya Echeng and Director of Operations, Mr. Philip Otiko both spoke in glowing terms on the remarkable developments going on in the Agency, pointing out that the revival of trainings and re-trainings are prospects of success towards achieving the Agency’s mandate, therefore calling on land and landed property owners to utilize the services of CRGIA to avoid unwarranted disagreements.
