Dr. Janet and Partner Rewards Consistent Clients to Encourage Patronage of Health Facilities

 

In a bid towards  building confidence and encouraging Cross Riverians to petronizing   government health facilities for their medical challenges,the cross river State government in partnership with AHF Africa  have rewarded selected clients in Calabar for effective facility utilization.


The reward exercise which came in form of foodstuffs and other medical utilities  are aimed at promoting good dietary provisions as well as encouraging residents to patronize various government facilities around them.


Presenting the gifts to the beneficiaries, the Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency,Dr Janet Ekpenyong alongside representative of one of the Agency's longstanding partner,Dr Ifeanyi admonished the beneficiaries to continue to promote effective healthcare services through clients visitation and effective feedback mechanism.


The DG further encouraged them to discourage the activities of quacks by delibrately failing to patronize them which will in turn minimize deaths caused by fake and substandard drugs .


"You know the importance of always running to a health facility even if you have headache, especially in this period where there are a lot of patent medicine stores around and unfortunately these people sell expired and quack drugs,we want to encourage you to always visit the Health facility,bring your family and friends along with you,so that we can get those quacks out of business.

We hope these little gifts goes a long way to support you especially regarding how difficult life is at the moment,the government of His Excellency Senator Professor Ben Ayade is ever committed to improving the health sector and meet the health needs of our people".



On his part, representative of the AHF,Dr Ifeanyi Uderkwo

Praised the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency and the Government for the quality of service being offered to clients in various communities across the state which matches services offered in other parts of the country as he also praised the state for creating a condusive atmosphere for the organization to function effectively.


"Cross River State Government is a wonderful government who have given us wonderful environment to tribe and touch the lives of people here.we have made strive in patients protection and patients supports,we as an organization is just copying what the government is doing by providing more supports".


In her response,the Head of primary Health Care Facility,Ikot Effanga,Mrs Christy Iwara  thanked AHF for supporting the facility and encouraging quality Healthcare delivery to Cross Riverians.


"We want to thank our ever faithful partners AHF for sticking with us all these while especially recognizing the fact that there are levels of hardship that we are now associated with due to the Covid19 outbreak,and because of the continuous patronage of our facility,we have chosen these ones to reward them and to encourage them to make Primary Healthcare centres closest to them as their first point of call for their health issues".


Some of the beneficiaries who spoke appreciated the government and it's partner (AHF) for the support as they pledged to help the state develop the culture of patronizing health facilities among it's people.


Highlight of the occasion was the Distribution of foodstuffs as well as personal protective equipment to the beneficiaries as well as admonishing them encourage their friends and relatives to follow their gesture.
