As Nigeria join the rest of the world to marks the occasion of the 2020 World Humanitarian Day celebration, the Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency has called on individuals ,groups and agencies of government to step up it's supports to the vulnerable groups across the state.
The DG who made the call In a message she signed and made available to the public, the DG said,it's only when we offer ourselves to meeting the needs of others that we can create a society worth living in.
She further used the opportunity to appreciate the efforts of staff of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency in offering selfless services both before and during the Covid19 pandemic.
"Just like broom,it functions better as a bunch,so we are as humans when we collectively support our weaker brothers and sisters.
Am glad that a day like this was set up to celebrate the lives of those who offer selfless services and am proud to say those of us in the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency are top on the list.
This Covid19 pandemic came and revealed the hidden strength in all of us,we had health workers who sacrificed their time, families and comfort to move into communities to sensitize our people, carry out awareness , did double shifts and even volunteered to give out some materials to help keep our dear state safe from the pandemic.
Today I want to call on other meaning and well to do Cross Riverians to emulate the gesture of our dear Governor,Senator Professor Ben Ayade in creating policies that daily affect the lives of Cross Riverians positively.
I also want to admonish our staff in the agency to continue to give in their best and surely unlike the old saying, our reward won't just be in heaven alone but here on earth as well".
Once again, Happy world Humanitarian Day celebration.
Dr Janet Ekpenyong
Director General,Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency.
