NKO COMMUNITY REASSURED THEIR SUPPORT FOR RT. HON. ETENG JONES AFTER RECONCILIATION WITH MKPANI COMMUNITY
Nko community and Mkpani Community in Yakurr Local
Government Area of Cross River State finally decided to put behind their
differences and work together for the betterment of both communities and
YakurrII Constituent. It was on record
that the two communities had being fighting for the past eight months or more.
Member Representing YakurrII Constituency Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones
Williams during December celebration of 2017 promise His supporters of Nko
community that before the end of January 2018 Peace will be dominant in
YakurrII Constituency and today the reconciliation of both communities had being
achieved.
It all started when the Obol Lopon of Ekori called on the
Chiefs, sons and daughters of both communities into a closed door meeting at
Ekori to put their heads together and find a lasting solution to the
disagreement of the communities, stating that it is unfair for two brothers to
be fighting and killing themselves.
After the meeting, on Friday 12th January 2018,
Nko community decided to enter Mkpani community and seek for peace and also
perform all needed traditional right that accompanied peacemaking in Mkpani community
and it was successful.
Today being 24th January 2018, the Mkpani community
reciprocates such gesture and visited Nko community to also carry out the traditional
right seeking for peace which finally peace was restored for the benefit of
both communities.
Supporters of Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Willians at Nko community
were calling, texting and thanking Rt.Hon. for his efforts and keeping to his
promises in restoring peace in YakurrII and they reassured him of their
undivided loyalty for him come 2019 elections.
During press briefing with Rt.Hon. Eteng, He thanks the
monarchy and the sons and daughters of Nko and Mkpani communities for their
positive responds and corporations. That without peace in the land they will be
no development. He also called on other communities to emulate the both communities so that peace and unity will prevail in every areas of Cross River
State.
Rt. Hon eteng also
assured Obubura L.G.A. that what plays out with Nko and Mkpani commmuinty will
also play out in obubura, he promised. He finally called on the youth of both
communities to respect all aspect of peace accorded through the traditional
right and maintain peace and laws of Cross River State and Nigeria in general.
NO PEACE NO DEVELOPMENT. WE STAND FOR PEACE.
