NMA PLEDGES STRONG PARTNERSHIP WITH THE STATE GOVERNMENT

The
Cross River State Branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has promised
strong partnership with the Cross River State Government in order to achieve
the desired goal of accessible, prompt and affordable healthcare for Cross
Riverians.
The
Governor who received the leadership of the NMA for an interactive meeting in
his office on Monday, 15th January, 2018, assured the Doctors of his
deep commitment to the welfare of the citizenry especially in the area of
healthcare.
He
enjoined the Doctors in the Federal Establishments to key into the State
programmes so as to achieve effective synergies in healthcare delivery.
At
the meeting, sundry matters were discussed ranging from Ayade Care, Waste
Management, Environmental Sanitation and other developmental programmes,
policies and projects of the Ayade-led administration.
The
NMA lauded the unparalleled development strides under the Ayade-led
administration.
The
NMA which was led by its Chairman, Dr. E. Mkpanam had in the team, Prof. Ikpeme
A. Ikpeme, Dr. Ofem Enang (both former chairmen of the NMA), the Chairman of
the Medical Women Association, Dr. (Mrs.) Okoi Obuli, amongst others.
In
attendance were the Commissioner for Information and Orienation, Mrs. RoseMary
Effiom Archibong, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Inyang Asibong, the State
Security Adviser, Mr. Jude Ngaji, and the Director-General, Cross River State
Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA), Dr. Better Edu.
