A political support Group of The People’s Democratic Party called "The Voice of Central" has been inaugurated to coordinate the Central Senatorial District of the State. The group has the mandate to work to reposition the Party and mobilize support for the re-election of the State Governor, Sen. Ben Ayade come 2019. 
In his opening remarks, the Vice Chairman Central, of the PDP, Mr. Iby Ajogbor said the group must take to all Local Government and Wards of the Central Senatorial District.
Mr. Ajogbor who was represented by the PDP Chapter Chairman for Obubra, Mr. Egor Dannis Enang Charged Members to remain focused.
On the other hand, The Member Representing Ikom l State Constituency, Mr Fred Okpa Osim, said the Inauguration signaled the commencement of Political Activities in the Central senatorial District. He said central Senatorial District remains critical in political decision in the State and enjoined the group to remain committed and consolidated. The Lawmaker observed the critical role of the Voice of central In the unfolding political scenario in the State, adding that the Leader of the Party, Governor Ben Ayade is proving direction for the Party.
The Member Representing Obubra l State Constituency, Mr. Friday Okpechi described the group as the HUB for political re-engineering in the Central Senatorial District. Mr. Okpechi said the inauguration of the group enjoys the support of the Party echelons and charged the group to discharge its function judiciously and sincerely. He advised the group to work and ensure that the Central Senatorial District remains intact for the PDP and for Governor Ben Ayade in 2019.
On his part, The Chairman of VOC and Member Representing Boki ll State Constituency, Hon. Hilary Bisong opined that the Central Senatorial District remains critical in the new political dispensation by charting a political direction for the rest of the State.
Hon. Hilary who also represented the Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon John Gaul Lebo as Special Guest, assured that the group was in the right direction. Hon. Hilary explained that things drifted in the Central Senatorial District after the twenty fifteen elections, adding that the Voice of Central is a clarion call for the PDP family in Central Cross River to work assiduously for the Party.
The Parliamentarian said the State Governor; Sen. Ben Ayade is creating a new vision for Cross River State, adding that the Governor has left no one in doubt that Cross River State is in a new era of development.
He called on Cross-Riverians to understand the vision of the present Governor and support him, adding that HE is creating a viable future for the State and its citizens.
The Director General, Voice Central, Mr. Victor Bassey identified the group as a political support group of the six Local Government Areas of the Central Senatorial District.
He explained that the group was initiated to build a Healthy Political Relationship and Political links, foster unity and create political harmony among the People of Central Cross River State and to support the administration of Prof. Ben. Ayade and his 2019 bid. Highlights of the event were the inauguration of the State, local Government Chapter and Ward Executive of the group.
