INFO BOSS TASK NEW NIPR INDUCTEES ON PROACTIVENESS TO REPAIR NIGERIA’S BATTERED IMMAGE

Cross River State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong has tasked newly-inducted members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to engage their professional prowess in order  to repair the battered image of Nigeria.

The Commissioner gave the charge during the Institute's induction of its new members, held at 502 Kolanut Centre, Barracks Road, Calabar.

Mrs. Archibong emphasized that the task of renewing lost hopes of the teeming youths of Nigeria, ensuring inter-communal and inter-state peace is their critical responsibility as public relations practice goes beyond the workplace and family institutions. 

She reminded new members that public relations practice begins with self and so they must be well acquainted with social graces and inter-personal communication skills. 

The Information and Orientation Boss also expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Institute for engaging its Chairmen and Secretaries in continuous education during National Retreat, thanking them for the choice of Calabar for the 2018 retreat. 

She used the opportunity to invite the practitioners to see the remarkable industrial strides of the Governor Ayade-led administration, while encouraging them to take part in this year's Carnival Calabar.

Inducting the new members, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Mallam Muktar Sirajo, charged them to remain good ambassadors of public relations by identifying and engaging with their respective chapters.

Mallam Sirajo challenged them to as image makers of their various establishments and the nation at large to quell the high rate of negative reports that have inundated Nigeria's image internationally.

In her remarks, the Chairman of the Cross River State Chapter, Ntunkae Offiong Ani Offiong congratulated the new inductees and wished them well in their endeavors.

Ntunkae Offiong thanked the national leadership of the institute for its choice of Calabar as venue for the 2nd National Retreat for Chairmen and Secretaries and induction, as well as bid safe trip to members travelling back to their various destinations.
