MARGARET NKANOR BINANG WINS SECOND EDITION OF INFO-QUIZ
Margaret Nkanor Binang, a student of Cross River University of Technolgy, has emerged winner of the second edition of the Info-Quiz Competition. The prize presentation which was jointly done by the Commissioner for Information & Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Effiom Archibong and her Commerce and Industry counterpart, Mr. Peter Egba, took place during the “Good Morning Cross River” CRBC TV live, Thursday, 15th March, 2018. Mrs. Archibong, congratulated Binang for clinching the prize and expressed delight at the increased citizens’ participation in the competition. The Information and Orientation Commissioner stated that Info-Quiz Competition will continue to highlight the achievements, projects and deliverables of the Ayade-led administration, arouse public participation, while adding to programme content in Cross River Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC). The Commissioner also revealed that presentation of Personal Voter Card (PVC) as a condition for receiving prize is a new innovation to encourage voters’ registration. She called on Cross Riverians to watch out for questions for the next edition of the competition on Monday, 19th March, 2018 via the various electronic media in the state as well as the Ministry of Information and Orientation social media platforms, participate and stand a chance to win. She was particularly excited that a woman emerged the second winner. On his part, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Peter Akam Egba praised Binang for being abreast with activities of government, which, according to him, prompted her participation and eventual victory in the competition. Mr. Egba stated that the Garment Factory, Calapharm, Calabar Rice City, Ikom Cocoa Processing Industry, Ogoja Rice Mill, etc, are palpable evidences of Governor Ben Ayade’s resolve to de-couple Cross River State from over-dependence in the Federal Government and increase the state internally-generated revenue. Receiving her prize, a joyful Margaret Binang revealed that she has been an ardent follower of the state government’s developmental strides, pointing out that Governor Ben Ayade is replete with deep vision to propel Cross River to an enviable pedestal. She thanked the Commissioners for creating an avenue for her to showcase her knowledge of government’s activities and called on Cross Riverians to support Governor Ayade’s developmental strides.
