COVID-19: Ndifon Tasks The Youths to lead the fight against COVID-19

The Secretary of Cross River State Chapter of National Youths Council of Nigeria and a front line aspirant for the Chairmanship seat of the Council in the state, Victor Ndifon has called on youths to be involved in proferring of proactive measures as the world seeks for ways to cope with the effect of COVID-19.

Ndifon who made this known in Abia, a remote village in Etung LGA where he was a facilitator in a Youth event, noted that youths are change agents that are capable of leading the fight against COVID-19 and also taking proactive measures to profer solutions as the world prepares for the Post COVID-19 era.

His words, " I am genuinely interested in Youth involvement and contributions to development and we are in a time where the world is shaking and economies have crumbled. This COVID-19 era has opened up to us what I call, systemic failures at all levels. And I know as young people it is our responsibility to change the narrative, and we are going to start it by the grace of God in the Youth Council." He noted.

"What we do to transform things is the little things we do in the classroom, in the church, on the road. These little things are what we as young persons can use to change things in our communities, in politics, in the development sector etc."

The Workshop which was put together by Responsive Youth Movement was aimed at enlightening young people to understand the effect of COVID-19, and how they can contribute their quota to developmental measures of living in the post Covid 19 era.

The Director General of the movement, Ejeh Peter said there was great need for young persons in remote villages to have good understanding of the ravaging COVID-19 and its effects so they can make informed decisions going forward.

In attendance were the Local Government Coordinator of Etung Youth Council, Ogar John, a one time Coordinator of Etung Youth Council Mr. Collins Akim, past and current presidents and leaders of Youths/student associations of Etung extractions all graced the event in their numbers.
