Peace Corps/Youth Commissioner Intercept truck carrying 120 Almajiris in Gakem-Benue Border
Cross River State Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria, Dr. Okweche Dominic and his men intercepted a group of Almajiris loaded in a cattle truck on the 10th day of May 2020 at Gakem-Benue Border.
Commissioner for Youth and skill Acquisitions, Hon. Signor Omang ordered the return of the two loaded trucks and thanked the Governor of Cross River State for His outstanding visionary qualities.
Commandant stressed that the Governor had warned that all necessary lawful measures must be taken to stop not only Almajiris but also other unlawful migrants.
Okweche concluded by saying that the interstate border closure regulations by His Excellency, The Governor of Cross River State Prof. Ben Ayade remain until the band is lifted by the Federal Government.
