72 HRS PHC REVITALIZATION: AYADE TO FIX THE WORST PRIMARY HEALTH CARE IN EVERY L.G.A -- Dr. BETTA EDU

After 5 hours on canoes, speed boat,  bikes etc a team from the Cross River State Primary health care Development agency sent by Governor Ben Ayade arrives the dilapidated ITO health post which has been adjudge the worst PHC center in Odukpani to assess the facility and connect with the communities who are supposed to be part of the process leading to a 72hrs facelift in that facility which is supposed to serves over 10,000 people.

The project initiated by the Governor to fix the weakest link in the health sector is deeply people oriented and rooted because the large community across the river in odukpani that have to go to other state to access health care will soon have their health center fixed and equipped to offer quality health services. The also will have their youths gainfully engaged and paid to work at the center and make it functional again.

The Leader of the team DR. BETTA EDU reiterated the commitment of The government of Cross River State to revitalizing primary health care centers which will take services to  all Cross Riverians, especially those in areas tagged 'hard to reach'.  Consequent upon this, a new innovation called "72 hour PHC make over challenge" powered by Governor Ben Ayade,  and midwifed by the indefatigable Director General of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Betta Edu have taken the challenge

Expressing her displeasure over the infrastructural decay of the facility, she assures the community of a make over new health center that would serve their health needs. According to her, for Cross State to attain  Universal Coverage, we are determined to take this challenge to the ends of the state – the toughest challenge to make our PHC functional!
She therefore, solicits for cooperation of key stakeholders

Earlier speaking, a health worker in the facility identified as Mrs. Nkoyo Ntero Eyibo while welcoming the DG, expressed her happiness for the visit. She said, the facility has attendance of over 300 registered persons while over 420 under five children were given vitamin A during the recently concluded Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week. Mrs. Eyibo later conducted the DG round the facility, showing her leaking roofs, collapsed wards,  ceilings and damaged woods as well as the poorly ventilated room which she has converted to delivery room. She said there is a decline in the number of women giving birth at the facility. This she attributed to the poor infrastructure of the facility.

Also speaking, the community Youth Leader, Eyibo Daniel expresses optimism for the  successful renovation of the health facility by the administration of His Excellency, Senator (Prof) Ben Ayade, having seen the magnitude of projects being executed by the Governor.

He assures the DG of maximum cooperation from the community.

NOTICE: Do you have a PHC in your LGA that is. Very bad?  It's not late... Take advantage of the Governor's initiative and reach out to us immediately!
