Eid-el-Fitri: Dr George Abang Ekpungu sue for peace, tolerance, unity in Nigeria
As Muslim all over the world celebrate the Eid-el-Fitri, Dr George Abang Ekpungu, an aspirant for Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency has called on all Nigerians irrespective of religious affiliations to live in peace and refrain from making remarks capable of causing disunity .
In his goodwill message on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri, the federal aspirant called on leaders at all levels to lead the people with the fear of God and selflessness.
Ekpungu, an immediate past Commissioner for New Cities Development in Cross River, urged religious leaders to continue to preach and promote the virtues of unity, genuine love for one another and peaceful co-existence for Nigeria to attain greatness and eschew divisive and hate tendencies .
He said that Nigerians must learn to live in harmony, tolerate one another and see the nation's diversity as a source of strength.
While congratulating Muslims on the "Festival of Sacrifice", he called on them to imbibe and demonstrate the lessons of kindness, tolerance and submission to higher authority, identified with the holy month and put Nigeria first in all their endeavours.
