Covid-19: security agencies must beef up border surveillance - SA Security

The Special Assistant on Security - Central, Cross River State, Mr. Tawo Obi Ogar, has charged security agencies in the State to beef up border surveillance amidst the rising spate of the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr. Ogar, who gave the charge while speaking to journalists in his country home in Bendeghe-Ekiem, where he is carrying out massive enlightenment campaign to ensure compliance from his local community to precautionary measures against the deadly corona virus, further stated that the State's peculiarity in terrain, as well as having international boundaries with Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, underscores the pertinence for complete border closure.
The Special Assistant on Security told newsmen that in the Central District of the State, there have been constant liaison with relevant security agencies in ensuring that all entries into the State are blocked to forestall any risk of the Covid-19 pandemic in Cross River State.
The SA lauded Governor Ben Ayade's proactive approach towards the fight against the deadly corona virus in Cross River State, which had seen him inaugurated the Covid-19 team, empowered it with 20 cars and a 500 million naira bounty and also a detailed arrangement for feeding of 44, 000 households in the State during this period.
Mr. Ogar further stated that apart from the trailblazing agro-industrialization exploits of the Ayade-led administration, the mass production of masks by the Cross River Garment Factory for eventual distribution to Cross Riverians and residents of the State, further highlights Governor Ayade's clairvoyance in pitching Cross River in the map of industrialization.
He reminded Cross Riverians of the high premium Governor Ayade places in the health and safety of the citizens, assuring them that the government will continue working round the clock towards a Covid-19 free Cross River State.
The SA advised Cross Riverians and residents of the State to strictly adhere to the precautionary measures put in place in place, as well as the stay at home order for the overall weal of the State.
