CR Speaker Tasks Members on use of facemasks

By Itam Offor, MOI officer reporting from CRSHA

The Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Eteng Williams, on Thursday, at plenary insisted that Legislators made contributions with their facemasks on.

Williams himself had put on his mask as he led the leadership of the House into the chambers to hold an emergency plenary convened to primarily work out modalities for the Lawmakers to contribute their quota in the fight against the current Coronavirus pandemic.

The Speaker had earlier, while talking to journalists, appealed to Cross Riverians to co-operate with the Government and obey all Government directives including; the stay-home order, regular washing of hands with soap and running water, use of hand sanitizers and other measures put in place to forestall the spread of COVID 19.

He also appealed to his constituents (Yakurr II) using the Yakurr language to stay safe while praying to God to protect Cross Riverians from the deadly COVID 19 pandemic.
