Members of the Cross River State Executive Council on Tuesday 3rd of July, held a prayer and thanksgiving session at the newly commissioned Rice Seed and Seedlings plant.
The event which was aimed at dedicating the factory to God as it begins full scale commercial activities, had in attendance the Commissioner for Information and Orientation Mrs. RoseMary Archibong, the Attorney General of the State and Commissioner for Justice Barr. Joe Abang, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry Mr. Peter Egba, Commissioner for Agriculture Prof. Egrinya Eneji, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Hon. Eric Anderson, Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development Elder Dr. John O. Inyang, Commissioner for Climate Change Dr. Alice Ekwu, the Chief Engineer of the plant Patrick O’Brien, and some Staff of the factory.
In her brief exaltation, Pst. RoseMary Archibong thanked God for giving the State Governor Prof. Ben Ayade the high intellectual capacity to think big, dream big and act big, and expressed delight that such a mighty edifice has been brought to stay despite all the challenges that confronted the project.
Mrs. Archibong who took the scripture from Psalm 2:2, admonished all to be steadfast in God and advised detractors to desist from discrediting those who God has anointed to serve, adding that Cross River State is positioned to laugh.
The praise and worship which began at about 9 am was led by Dr. Alice Ekwu.
Barr. Joe Abang prayed for judicial peace, calling on all to shield their sword for the interest of peace and rapid development of the State, lamenting that the numerous litigations against the Governor Ben Ayade led administration are a distraction to good governance which the present administration is keen on providing.
Mr. Peter Egba prayed for Governor Ben Ayade for more wisdom and God’s guidance as he continues to accomplish other numerous ongoing projects abound in different parts of the State.
Hon. Eric Anderson offered prayers for peace and harmony in all parts of Nigeria, particularly in the troubled regions.
In the same Elder Dr. John Inyang prayed for the fruitfulness of all land in the State, especially as the State Government continues in its efforts to woo investors.
In his vote of thanks, Prof. Egrinya Eneji noted that the rice seed and seedlings factory will add value to farming activities to increase earnings accruable to the State, and hinted that already supply orders from customers have been received at the factory.
