The Economic Viability of Borno State and indeed The North eastern part of Nigeria was built into the Nigeria Army Day Celebration, NADCEL 2018. The Nigerian Army under the leadership of Lt. Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai Decided to showcase to the world the economic potentials of the Borno, Yobe and Adamawa people which can support the improvement of the Nigerian economy.
Borno State, which once had twenty five out of its twenty seven local governments areas under the control of Boko Haram Terrorists, BHT, today is completely liberated from the hands of the daredevil terrorist group. The People of the state have started returning to their ancestral home with the hope of continuing their livelihood which is basically agriculture, fishing and trading.
The Nigerian Army organized a mini trade fair and a local and international military equipments manufacturers exhibition to showcase some of the products made in the 3 Northeastern States with the aim of attracting investors back to the states now that peace has returned.
It was also an opportunity for the Nigerian Army to show the world the different technological advancement the Nigerian Army developed locally for self sustainability.
The Chairman of the Innovation and Exhibition Committee of NADCEL 2018, Major Gen. C O Ude, explains further the essence of the mini trade fair and exhibitions.
Also Speaking the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai expressed satisfaction on the achievements of the Nigerian Army so far, and reassures the people of the Nigerian Army's commitment to the discharge of its constitutional responsibility in line with his vision "To Have A PROFESSIONALLY RESPONSIVE Nigerian Army In The Discharge Of Its Constitutional Roles".
The Special Guest of Honour who is the Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin in his address expressed optimism that the economic activities in the north east can blossom again. He appreciated the Chief of Army Staff and his men for all they have done to restore peace in the north east.
High point of the ceremony was a tour of the mini trade fair stands by the Special Guest of Honour and other dignitaries present. The message this exhibition intends to convey is that through the untiring efforts and leadership of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, the Nigerian Army is capable to defend Nigeria's Territorial Integrity, provide enabling environment for Nigerians to thrive and a Nigerian Army that is indeed, a Pride of the Nation.
