INFO-QUIZ: ARCHIBONG ENJOINS CROSS RIVERIANS TO KEY INTO GOV. AYADE’S ADGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong has called on Cross Riverians to key into Governor Ben Ayade's deliberate initiatives and strategic policies towards agricultural revolution, as a roadmap to economic development of the State.
                         
Mrs. Archibong made the call today, while presenting cash prize to the joint winners of the 7th Edition of Info-Quiz Competition, live on "Good Morning Cross River" CRBC TV Programme.
              
She stated that Governor Ayade's intention is to make agriculture the economic livewire of the State and decouple Cross River from over-dependence on Federal Government by taking agriculture from peasantry to commercial level.
      
This weeks' Info-Quiz Competition, which focused on the Odukpani Banana Plantation and  had Ukashia Pius and Aja Arigor as joint winners, drew commendation from Mrs. Archibong for the high-level of competitiveness witnessed, adding that their responses have expanded people's frontiers of knowledge as well as built  participants' Information and Communication (ICT) capacity.
Mrs. Archibong, who described uses of banana as creating a new vista for the cosmetology sector and other agro-allied products, urged entrepreneurs to tap into Ayade's agricultural twirl and utilize the benefits that abound.
                     
The Information and Orientation Boss then called for more participation in the Info-Quiz Competition, which according to her, widens participants' intellectual depth, incite pro-activeness as well as accelerate participatory governance in the affairs of the State.                         
Jointly presenting the prize, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Prof. Anthony Eneji also stated that Governor Ayade's emphasis on agriculture is to make it a major driver of the State's economy.
                   
Prof. Eneji thanked his Information and Orientation counterpart for beaming the light on the Odukpani Banana Plantation under his watch, describing banana as "one crop with global consumption appeal.
                       
In his remark, one of the winners of the 7th edition of InfoQuiz, Mr. Ukashia Pius, who is a 200 level political science student of the University of Calabar, commended the State Government's agricultural policies, which he described as a catalyst for economic turnaround of the State as well as liberation from over dependence on oil.                                
On her part, joint winner, Miss Ajah Arigor, extolled Governor Ayade's transformation  and foresightedness in the agricultural sector, adding that InfoQuiz has expanded her frontiers of knowledge and increase her level of awareness of the numerous projects being embarked upon by the State Government.
