Rt. Hon.Eteng Jones Williams Visit Inyima and Ekpeti Communities with Relief Materials and seek Peace

Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Williams today being the 20th day of April 2019 visited the two warring communities in Yakurr II Constituency of Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State. He provided relief materials to support the  victims of communal clashes in Inyima and Ekpeti respectively. He also cautioned his subjects from going to war with each other. The items presented to the communities were bags of Garri, noodles, bags of Rice, Sachets of Maggi, Sachets of salt, drinks and money. He officially stressed the need for equitable sharing of the food items to avoid rancour. While addressing both communities, he urged them to embrace Peace for the purpose of development. The communal crisis have brought untold losses and fears to the villages and communities within Yakurr II Constituency said Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Williams. The Ova of Inyima Community Ferdinand Eyo expressed gratitude to Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Williams for coming to the aid of the people and pledges to share the items in a peaceful manner even as the community expects the Government of the Prof. Ben Ayade Administration to put everything in place to end the war in totality. Also at Ekpeti Community the Ova of the community Charles Enang expressed appreciation to Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Williams for providing the relief materials and for responding to the plight of his people. Stating that it would go a long way in feeding the children and the women that can no longer go to farm or their normal businesses because of the war. We were taken unaware and unexpected he added. He also seeked for the medium to call on the Government to  intervene and  end the war, so to ensure that our children can return back to school. The dignitaries that accompanied Rt. Hon. Eteng Jones Williams to the respective communities were DPO of Nko Division DSP Uduake Japhat, Commissioner VI of Local Government Commission Hon. Uket Obono, Mr. David Ekpo, Director inland waterway, Dr. Willie Director Cali farm, Mr. Omini Itam Director of Food Bank, Mr. Timothy Commissioner of safety commission, Mr. Eyo formal chancellor of Inyima, Barr. Ukagu formal chancellor/ DG Prince Agara movement and others.
