Info-Quiz: Archibong Hails Etim's Consistency, As He Emerges This Week's Winner

The Commissioner for Information & Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Effiom Archibong has hailed Mr. Francis Boco Etim's consistent participation in the Info-Quiz Competition and his eventual emergence as winner of this week's edition.
Mrs. Archibong, represented by the Director, Public Relations, Mr. Mike Nyajor, gave the commendation during the prize presentation which was jointly done by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Cocoa Development, Mr. Oscar Ofuka, took place during the "Good Morning Cross River" CRBC TV live, Thursday, 12th April, 2018.
Mrs. Archibong congratulated Etim, who emerged winner after a fourth attempt, for his succinct and accurate answers to the Info-Quiz questions, which led to his clinching the prize.
The Information and Orientation Commissioner stated that apart from inciting citizens' participation and testing their knowledge of government projects, this week's questions for the Info-Quiz Competition sought to highlight the achievements and deliverables of the Ayade-led administration in the agriculture sector, with focus on Cocoa development.
She lauded Governor Ben Ayade's drive to reinvigorate cocoa production and agriculture generally in the State, recallinging that before the discovery of crude oil in Nigeria, agriculture was the livewire of the nation's economy. She pointed out that given dwindling oil prices globally, it has become pertinent for Nigerians to return to agriculture.
Archibong called on Cross Riverians to watch out for questions for the next edition of the competition on Monday, 16th March, 2018 via the various electronic media in the state as well as the Ministry of Information and Orientation social media platforms, participate and stand a chance to win.
On his part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Cocoa Development, Mr. Oscar Ofuka, felicitated with Etim on his Info-Quiz victory and expressed delight in the Ministry of Information and Orientation's Info-Quiz Competition initiative, pointing out that the programme would help showcase the activities of Cocoa development, nay agriculture and the Ayade-led administration at large.
Ofuka revealed that under Governor Ben Ayade vision is to make cocoa the mainstay in the State by empowering and encouraging Cross Riverians to venture into farming and opening of new cocoa farms, adding that Ayade's Premier Cocoa Processing Industry in Ikom will utilize produce and boost quality of Cross River State cocoa.
The SA pointed out that the newly
established cocoa farms in Aking-Osomba in Akamkpa (3,800 hectares of), the farms at Abo-Ogbagante (Boki), Okuni (Ikom), Ofambe (Obudu) and the model farm at the University of Calabar, will complement the aging cocoa estates in Ikom/Etung and other cocoa farming areas of the State, escalating Cross River to becoming a leading exporter of cocoa.
Receiving the prize, Mr. Francis Boco Etim thanked the Ministry of Information and Orientation for the opportunity to test his knowledge of happenings in the State, especially from the government angle, noting that massive projects such as the Ikom Premier Cocoa Processing Factory, the Woda Cotton Plantation, Calapharm, Calabar Rice City, the Odukpani Banana Plantation, etc, have placed Cross River State as a leading light in the national call to return to agriculture.
