The Cross River State House Of Assembly has postponed confirmation of the Acting Chief Judge, Justice Akon Bassey Ikpeme earlier scheduled for today.
Speaking to newsmen, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Hon Francis Bassey (Odukpani) said the decision to postpone the confirmation was taken by Members at an executive session adding that the postponement is because the report of the Judiciary Committee which screened the nominee was not ready.
He said, ”the chairman of the Judicial Committee stated categorically that his report is not ready. You don't have to worry about anything, it's about Cross River. The House is taking this very seriously and will handle this on or before Monday. The House will treat this matter and conclude it." he assured.
