Gov. Ayade's non-oil economy receiving impetus from all fronts - Archibong
By Kingsley Agim
Cross River State Commissioner for Commerce, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong has stated that the non-oil economic drive of the Governor Ben Ayade-led administration is receiving impetus as the State agro-industrialization strides continue to get massive attention.
Mrs. Archibong made this known at the just-concluded 3-day South-South Export Enlightenment and Engagement Forum, held in Asaba, Delta State Capital.
The Commerce Commissioner described the event as "expository and affirmative to the expediency of raising Cross Riverians' awareness on the enormous but untapped opportunities in the agro export sector," while commending Governor Ayade's far-sightedness in charting a course for economic prosperity of Cross River State.
Expressing delight over the sight of Cross River-born agro businessmen at the conference, Mrs. Archibong called on Cross Riverians to embrace the numerous opportunities to become green millionaires in the near future.
She hinted that her Ministry is in contact with the Export Promotion Council, South-South Region, to organise a sensitization activity in Calabar to acquaint the State's non-oil businessmen and women on agricultural export opportunities.
In the State contingent led by the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr., were Commissioners for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Okon Owuna, Commerce, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong, their Industry Ministry counterpart, Mr. Peter Egba, as well as other Cross Riverians.
