PCN: Okweche louds Ayade for Appointing a Humanitarian Hon. Rita as Commissioner


Cross River State Commandant of Peace Corps of Nigeria Patriot (Dr) Okweche Dominic has congratulated the Commissioner for women Affairs Hon. Rita Agbo Ayim, on her appointment, acknowledged her contributions to humanity.

The Commandant on a courtesy visit to the office of the Commissioner commended her for impacting on lives during her stay in council as Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Area.

Okweche noted that Hon. Rita's achievements over the years are enormous ranging from sponsoring majority of Peace Corps Officers during 2016 recruitment to Obubra Camp, witnessing their passing out parade and also engaging them to work in the council. "Such move is characterised by selfless service, dedication and determination to impact positively on the youths while carrying out your assignment with diligence and excellence as a public servant, the Commandant said".

Okweche appreciated the Commissioner for her contributions in the lives of the people of Ogoja, and Crossriverians in general, throughout her stay in council.

Commandant, however uged the Commissioner to use her current position as a platform to further touch the youths and since Peace Corps is a youth organization, we can always partner together.

More so, the State Commandant presented a customized felicitation card to the  Commissioner as an extension of appreciation for her genuine services to humanity.

In reactions, The Commissioner opined that Peace Corps is like a family to her and as she had done before, when she was in council, she will still partner with Peace Corps to engage the officers in terms of security, to secure the facilities of government in the state.

Rita added that the ministry is open to work with Peace Corps to ensure that the objectives of organization is achieved.

"I'm also aware of the state of your bill at the national assembly and I'm optimistic that when  the NASS finish their  legislative work, the President will surely assent to it. Nothing good comes easy" Commissioner added.

Commissioner went ahead to Thank the organization for recognizing her selfless services, and for the customized card, that it will be placed in the office, everyone that sees the card will know that, it is good to enjoy a good relationship with Peace Corps.

Commissioner summarized that she will invite Peace Corps to always give a talk on gender base violence to youths and women.

The meeting ended with a group photograph and exchange of pleasantries.
