THE PEACE CORPS OF NIGERIA IN THE FACE OF SECURITY CHALLENGES

The recent security challenges of our beautiful country has become a major  concern to everyone . Nigeria with well over 250 million population, security has become the business of everyone. The popular NTA security advise  says '' If you see something say something" therefore everyone should be involved in the business of security as practice in Europe.

There now clear indication that the security architecture can no longer completely man the country and needs help from everyone  in this country to provide timely and accurate information  to relevant security agencies.

The National security Adviser Babagana Monguno in recent NTA interview pointed out that security in the 21st century has gone beyond arms bearing by security agencies. Therefore we cannot keep doing something the same way and expect to get different results
Nigerian peace Corp if given the right support by the government may turn out to be a major alternative solution to our security challenges.  State like Kwara and Borno has now indicated interest to work with the Nigeria Peace Corp personal on this. An Egba high chief and a veteran journalist Chief Lai Labode confirmed that the role of peace corps of Nigeria in the society remains vital to national development, safety and security

The first planery session this year held on 29 January, 2020 on the security challenges in the country, the upper chamber pointed unemployment as the key cause of the present security challenges in the country. And the need for the executive to step up action to secure the country

The peace Corp had the mandate to promote economic and social development by incorporating volunteers and members in the scheme through working with multi-agencies to keep the youth preoccupied. To equip and train the youth with the essential knowledge on conflict resolution, peace education, reconcile, mediation and Nation building. Establishing peace Corp clubs in colleges and school.
The peace Corp is a vital organization that can contribute a lot to our security challenges using education and crime prevention techniques.We all want and peace we will get .
