LIONS CLUB SEEKS TIES WITH CRSG ON EDUCATION

The International Association of Lions Clubs, District 404A2 Nigeria, Akpabuyo Island Leo Club, has expressed willingness to continue to support Cross River State Government in providing quality education to Cross Riverians and residents in the State.
President of the Akpabuyo Island Leo Club, Leo Aja Kanu LAH, gave the assurance during its Annual Quiz Competition organized for Secondary Schools in Calabar.
Leo Kanu maintained that Lions Club will continue to contribute immensely to humanity to foster a spirit of understanding amongst people of the world as well as promote principles of good government and citizenship.
She noted that Lions Club has over the years taken active interest in the educational, civil, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community and building capacity of the individual and the society at large.
Meanwhile, Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) has emerged 2020 winners of the Annual Quiz Competition for Secondary Schools in Calabar, organized by the Akpabuyo Island Leo Club.
The School pulled a total of 37 points to come top ahead of St. Patrick College and Federal Airport Authority who came second and third with 33 and 31 points respectively, amongst the over 8 schools that participated in the quiz competition.
Presenting the prize to the winners, the President, Akpabuyo Island Leo Club, Leo Aja Kanu LAH, congratulated the school for emerging winners of the 2020 edition, adding that the aim of the quiz competition was to encourage the students adopt innovative techniques and develop their ideas and skills.
He commended the participants for their seriousness and urged them to use the opportunity of the quiz competition to self-evaluate themselves and nurture their experience and skills further.
Earlier, the Leo District President, Leo District 404A2 Nigeria, Leo Asuquo Bassey LAH, 100%P, noted that the essence of the quiz competition is to enhance their academic competence.
Responding on behalf of the winners, the Deputy Head Girl of the School, Victory Edem Udoh thanked the Association for organizing the quiz competition; adding that it has expanded their frontiers of knowledge.
