The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong has restated the need for a healthy citizenry to bolster the Ayade-led administration’s drive in transforming the State into an industrial hub.
The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong, made this assertion at the flag-off of ‘Safe A Life,’ a component of ABC Medical Outreach in collaboration with AYADECARE Home Healthcare, recently at Ikot Offiong Ambai, Akpabuyo Local Government Area.
Mrs. Archibong expressed delight in the possibility of getting healthcare services to the remote parts of the State through ABC Medical Outreach and the AYADECARE Home Healthcare, recalling the various health interventions brought to Akpabuyo through the Office of the Wife of the Governor, Dr. Linda Ayade.
The Information and Orientation Boss thanked Rt. Hon. Savior Nyong for the vision of Safe-A-Life Project and for collaborating with AYADECARE Home Healthcare aimed at bringing quality healthcare delivery to the people, adding that the gesture is in line with the present administration’s desire for a healthier citizenry.
She thanked the people for the massive turnout rcorded at the event, as well as urged stakeholders to work assiduously to ensure that the people come out en masse to access quality healthcare through the Safe a Life Project.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Office of Safe A Life Project and Commissioner for Transport and Marine Service, Rt. Hon. Saviour Nyong stated that the idea of Safe A Life was borne out of his experience of the dearth of quality healthcare services in the remotest parts of the State.
Rt. Hon. Nyong described AYADECARE Home Healthcare as complete package for effective healthcare delivery in the State, adding that the Safe A Life project in collaboration with AYADECARE will greatly take care of the health needs of the people at no cost.
Nyong stated that the pilot project which covers Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South Local Government Areas, will be extended to other parts of the State in due course.
Also speaking, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Emmanuel Offiong Bassey described the partnership of Safe A Life and AYADECARE as “a unique innovation for effective healthcare delivery” for the people.
Hon. Bassey thanked Rt. Hon. Saviour Nyong for the vision of bringing affordable healthcare services to the people, pointing out that such a worthy project deserves to be sustained.
Earlier in her opening remarks, the Head of Local Government Administration, Akpabuyo, Mrs. Theresa Ezinma expressed happiness in the collaborative efforts of Safe A Life and AYADECARE Home Healthcare for deeming it important to take healthcare delivery to the remote parts of the State.
Mrs. Ezinma pledged to gear-up sensitization to ensure that the people of Akpabuyo access and utilize healthcare services and bring respite to their health needs.
The Member representing Akpabuyo in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Elizabeth Ironbar and the Clan Head of Ikot Offiong Ambai, Etinyin Umo Effiom, who spoke in Efik language, lauded the project’s vision and promised to collectively work to the success of the project.
The well-attended event climaxed with the official flag-off of the project by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong and scintillating cultural displays.
