The speaking Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo, on Saturday, 23rd June 2018 has bags a Prestigious International Merit award for Excellence as the Most Outstanding Best Performed Speaker in Nigeria 2017 and also Cross River State House of Assembly bags Prestigious International Merit award for Excellence as the Most Innovative Top Best Run State House of Assembly in Nigeria 2017.
Presenting the awards to the Speaker,Prince Joshua Ola Adeleke Chief Executive officer of Arewa Media, said that the awards were in recognition of his unpreceth, development and successes of the Cross River State House of Assembly since he assumed office as the Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly.
Describing Rt. Hon.John Gaul as a seasoned lawyer, a team player, a go getter and above all, an inspiration to the younger ones, he asserted that the awards were based on merit, adding that, having carried out their surveys and research across the country by the media outfit; they found him/ Cross River State House of Assembly worthy of the awards among his counterparts and other States House of Assembly.
Responding, Rt. Hon. John Gaul, who was pleasantly surprised, thanked the media organisation for finding him/ Cross River State House of Assembly worthy of the awards, saying that he was highly honoured.
He dedicated the awards to His colleagues who voted him to the exalted position as the Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly, which he referred to as a winning team for their cooperation and support in the performance of his duties, adding "I will continue to do my best to Move Cross River State House of Assembly forward."
"This honour is a motivation and encouragement for me and all the legislators in Cross River State House of Assembly. This attests to the fact that whatever you are doing, people are watching and taking note.The award is a challenge for all of us to be dedicated to our duties,"he inferred.
Meanwhile, the Leader of the House Rt. Hon. Moses Ucheche, member representing Obanliku constituency who represented the Speaker at the event through support on Arewa Media for finding Cross River State House of Assembly worthy of the awards and also the Speaker.
Rt. Hon. Moses, formally on Wednesday being 27th June 2018 handed over the wards to the Speaker at the Speaker office with all the legislators and Press men present to witness the handing over.
