By Kingsley Agim
The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong has commended Governor Ben Ayade's online media team for publishing a compendium of achievements of the present administration, tagged "Governor Ben Ayade: The Journey So Far."
Mrs. Archibong gave the commendation when a delegation led by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr. Nathan Otaba, recently visited and presented the Commissioner with copies of the compilation.
The Information and Orientation Boss also lauded the rich quality of the compendium, saying: "No matter how digital and electronic we go, this is what history needs. Given the high cost of electronics and internet, system crashes, viruses and other issues faced by the new technology, it is important that we have printed versions for history, archive and documentation."
Archibong said in a society where reading culture is deteriorating, the magazine's pictorial evidences of the Ayade-led administration's achievements, accompanied with succinct articles, will encourage reading, thereby educating and informing the citizenry.
Speaking further, Mrs. Archibong stated that the Online Media Team's effort is in conformity with Governor Ayade's mantra of 'thinking out-of-the-box, selflessness and contribution to nation building, adding that the compilation will help in reverberating the present administration's success story.
While pledging her Ministry's readiness to partner with the team, Mrs. Archibong advised the delegation to always hinge on ethics of journalism, knowing that 'facts are sacred.'
Speaking earlier, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr. Nathan Otaba stated that the essence of the project is to ensure that even those who do not have access to the internet can also get information on government's projects and achievements.
