AYADE PAYS CONTRACT STAFF LONG OUSTANDING SALARY ARREARS

By Uchino Amatey

Sequel to His Excellency's approval to pay and regularise contract staff, and after a thorough personnel audit exercise, the Cross River State Water Board Limited (CRSWBL) has paid 463 contract staff of the Board.

While thanking Governor Ayade for his magnanimity, the Acting Managing Director CRSWBL, Dr Stephen Odey commended the governor for his efforts towards the actualization of this long awaited payment. Dr Odey further stated that disparity in payment was squarely addressed.

According to him "During the personnel audit we noticed that there were a lot of disparities in the payment system, while some were earning higher, others with the same qualifications were earning lower, but all that has been rectified," he said.

Stating that 37 contract staff that are yet to be paid are those who have issues with their account details, he advised them to see the Director of Account CRSWBL to rectify issues for immediate payment.

While urging contract staff to compliment government efforts by returning to work and ensuring that Cross Riverians get the best service delivery, Dr Odey warned that those who fail to do so would not be regularised. He further urged all staff to live up to their responsibilities and redouble their efforts to ensure the smooth operations of the Board.

"I will not hesitate to delete those shortlisted for regularisation if they fail to return to their duty post," he warned.

The CRSWBL Boss called on the general public to show understanding, stating that the Board is working tirelessly to improve on its operations.
