The Cross River state chairman of People Democratic Party Ntufam Inok Edim has charged party members to ensure they elect credible candidates who will promote and protect the interest of the party in the coming elections.
This was contained in a statement made when a support group, Chris Agara for Senate 2019 paid a courtesy call on the state party exco.
He charged them to be law-abiding and shun practices that could dent the image of the party. Also speaking, The deputy state chairman of the party, Hon. Patrick Ebam Emanghe emphasized the need for the party to encourage members who have always given the party financial support.
In his presentation, Hon. Jones Tangban the Director General of the support group in company of directors, coordinators, Women leaders, youth leaders and representatives of other groups, maintained that the purpose of the visit was to reaffirm their unflinching support for the party and to the Governor of Cross River State Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade and to also solicit the support and endorsement of Barr. Chris Agara as the party's rightful candidate for the Senate seat in the Central Senatorial district of the state.
In Appreciation, the Senatorial aspirant, Barr. Chris Agara, pledged to continue his financial support to the party even if the party decides otherwise of his Ambition. He therefore called on all those present to imbibe the spirit of one love!
Also in attendance at the Secretariat were the PDP state secretary, state publicity Secretary, women leader, vice chairman central, vice chairman north and other other PDP stalwarts.
In a random interview conducted after the visit, a party chieftain of the party and suport group member, Dr Bassey Okoi said that the only good thing the people Democratic Party (PDP) will do for the constituents in central senatorial district is to give them a man with capacity like Barr. Chris Agara as the PDP flag bearer come 2019 Senatorial election.
Also speaking, another party chieftain who pleaded for anonymity added that the person of Barr. Chris Agara is what the People Democratic Party needs to set things right in Central Senatorial District and used the medium to enjoin the Youths, the party exco, and every son and daughter of Cross River Central Senatorial District to put their support and trust behind Barr. Chris Agara for the senatorial seat come 2019. The Peoples Democratic Party is 100% behind Barr Chris Agara, he added.
