By Kingsley Agim/Ejishie David
The Federal Government's Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Model Junior Secondary has been described by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong as a perfect environment for teaching, learning and grooming children.
The Information and Orientation Commissioner made this assertion during a tour of the School on 17th May, 2018.
Mrs. Archibong also hailed the State Governor, Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade for his resolve to take education a step further, culminating in the impressive performance of Cross River in the National Examination Council.
"We have seen the conducive atmosphere which the Governor has put in place which brought this partnership with the Federal Government to put up this beauty with state-of-the-art facilities for normal teaching and learning," she concluded.
Conducting the media team around the vicinity, the Vice Principal of the School, Mrs. Theresa Friday Eni showered praise on Governor Ayade for siting the School in Itigidi, pointing out that the school which was established on October24, 2016, is growing in leaps and bounds, with 98 students currently under their tutelage.
She called on parents to bring their children and wards for admission into school for quality education, describing it as a "bastion of hope for people who hitherto could not send their children to bigger cities for studies.
Also speaking, one of the students, Evalsam Peter Egwu lauded Governor Ayade for establishing the school to impart quality and qualitative education for the people.
It will be recalled that the Ayade-led administration had partnered UBEC to build such model schools in each of the three Senatorial Districts in the State.
