AYADE REUNITES BOKI EAST AND WEST

By David Ejishie/Kingsley Agim

The Indigenes of Boki East and West in Cross River State have praised the State Governor, Sen. Ben Ayade for keeping to his campaign promises, with the construction of Boki East-West road and Boje Bridge.

Engr. Greg Undie, an assistant Director in the State Ministry of works, disclosed while conducting newsmen on an on-the-spot assessment of the project that the 27km road is near completion.

He thanked Sen. Ben Ayade for constructing the road to make the area accessible and alleviate the suffering of the people, noting that before now the people of Boki had to traverse through Ogoja, Obudu and Ikom before accessing boki 1 and 2.

Engr. Undie noted that for 45 years both constituencies were totally disconnected from the point of mercantile and social interactions and indeed all prospects that give people dignity, while thanking God for Ayade who restored the cored that once held them together.

With the expected value to be added to their farm produce through appropriate pricing, the Community Chairman Asu Dominic Ochang had this to say:
"The Governor must be commended for his courageous efforts at changing the social economic narrative of the people of East and West Boki.

The harrowing years of spending fruitful days and nights and seeing farm produce perish while conveying them to the market is fast coming to a terminal end".

He added that with the construction of the road, the two communities have started to enjoy the dividends of democracy and that the project has made life more meaningful for the villagers.

The commissioner for information and orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong, who led the media team on the tour, added that with the construction of the Boje East-West road by Sen. Ben Ayade, governance has been brought closer to the people.

It would be recalled that the two constituencies were cut off until the inception of the Governor Ben Ayade led administration.
