BLOODLESS MEDICINE AND SURGERY: ARCHIBONG COMMENDS UCTH

Cross River State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong has hailed the Management of University of Calabar Teaching Hospital for flagging off the 2018 Bloodless Surgery week in Calabar, with the theme "Blood Transfusion Avoidance as a Public Health Strategy".
Mrs. Archibong, who was represented by the Director of Public Relations in the Ministry, Mr. Michael Nyajor, expressed believe that the programme will be sustained and also provide alternative option for medical service seekers.
"I wish to congratulate the authorities of University of Calabar Teaching Hospital for initiating and promoting this wonderful programme of Bloodless Medicine and Surgery for the sole benefit of humanity.
It is my desire that this evident –based programme has come to stay and would continue to be the best medical option for patients", Mrs. Archibong remarked.
The Information and Orientation Commissioner disclosed that the Bloodless Transfusion initiative is coming at a time when the Governor Ben Ayade-led administration has put in place laudable projects in the health sector in order to provide comprehensive, affordable and qualitative healthcare for Cross Riverians and residents in the State.
She stated that the policy thrust of the State Government in the health sector is been achieved through the setting up of Cross River State Health Insurance Scheme "AyadeCare", CalaPharm, Ayade Home Care Services, amongst others
Mrs. Archibong then urged the organizers of the 2018 Bloodless Surgery week to build on this land mark achievement by partnering with the State Government in the health sector for the benefit of all.
She assured of her Ministry's readiness to utilize its wide range publicity platforms to support University of Calabar Teaching Hospital in informing and educating the public on bloodless surgery.
The event which began on May 13, with the arrival of quest, will end on Saturday 19th May 2018 and will feature talks and keynote addresses by renowned medical practitioners and scholars within and abroad.
