By Kingsley Agim
The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. Rosemary Archibong has described participants of the Info-Quiz Competition as "Ambassadors of the Governor Ben Ayade-led administration" and urged them to remain leading lights in tracking the giant strides of this government.
Mrs. Archibong made this remark, today, during the prize presentation of this week's Info-Quiz Competition on the "Good Morning Cross River" live television programme.
Congratulating the winner – Mgbalam James – a third year student of Economics at the prestigious University of Calabar, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction in the quality of responses turned in, describing the competition as "getting a lot more interesting.
The Information and Orientation Boss stated that her Ministry's Info-Quiz Competition shone its light on Public-Private Partnership in order to assuage and lend credence to Governor Ben Ayade's oversea trips which have resulted in world class PPP-driven projects spread across the State.
She averred that given the deficit in budgeting in the State, it takes a clairvoyant leader like Governor Ben Ayade to be able to execute such laudable projects and programmes.
Presenting the prize, the Director-General, Cross River State Bureau of Public-Private Partnership, Mr. Udiba Effiong Udiba, described Mgbalam as a wonderful gentleman, given his level of knowledge of the subject matter.
Mr. Udiba maintained that given the dwindling oil prices and the economic state of the nation, PPP has become the sine qua non for success, pointing out that Governor Ben Ayade has discretely utilized PPP to drive his industrial revolution in Cross River State.
In his remarks, the winner, Mgbalam James, said Info-Quiz competition has broadened his knowledge of government activities in the State, while urging fellow Cross Riverians to partake in the Competition to expand their frontiers of scholarship.
The Obanliku-born Mgbalam also hailed Governor Ben Ayade for his visionary leadership and the high profile achievements recorded so far.
