UNICAL STUDENT EMERGES WINNER OF INFO QUIZ
Master Obase Abraham Ayuk, a 300 level student of Social Works, in the University of Calabar, is currently basking in the euphoria of joy, after he emerged winner of the 9th edition of InfoQuiz, a programme of the Ministry of Information and Orientation.
This week's edition focused on the achievements in the women affairs sector, in which the policy thrust of Governor Ayade comprising economic, political and social advancement of women was placed on the front burner.
Mr Ayuk captured this succinctly in his answer, making specific references to the employment of women in the Cross River Garment factory as well as Her Excellency, Dr Linda Ayade's Cross River State Women Emancipation Programme (CROWEP).
Presenting the cash prize to the winner, who was represented by his brother Mr. Osang George, the Commissioner for Women Affairs Hon. Stella Odey congratulated Obase for his sensitivity towards Governor Ayade's giant strides in the women affairs sector.
She disclosed that Cross River is one of the 3 leading States in child friendliness, adding that the State Government under Prof. Ben Ayade has displayed tremendous courage in setting up a mechanism for the enforcement of Child rights.
In her remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Archibong expressed satisfaction at the depth of knowledge of youths regarding the achievements of Governor Ben Ayade-led administration and encouraged winning youths to be effective ambassadors of his administration.
She reiterated that 'infoquiz' is intended to inform, engage and empower the citizenry as well as advocate for the need to posses permanent voters card.
The Information and Orientation Boss noted that the State Government under Prof. Ben Ayade has recorded huge successes despite the lean resources.
She then congratulated Obase, for emerging winner of the 9th edition of InfoQuiz.
The programme aims at highlighting Governor Ayades giant strides and engaging citizens interest and corporation.
